21 Days of Prayer for the United States

I will set this post to run as #2 on my list until November 7.

These are troubling days in the grand old U.S. of A.

These battles cannot be fought with politics, military, or medical doctors alone.  We need God's help. We need God's help again.

Because, as the second President of the United States understood, "the safety and prosperity of nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and blessing of Almighty God."

Why not focus on praying for America the twenty-one days prior to the Presidential election?    The prayers are based on the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6, the armor of God in Ephesians 6, and Daniel’s prayers in Daniel 9-10.

If you have not already, you can read my article Fervent, Righteous Praying for America here.

Use the following prayer guide from October 19 - November 8, 2016.

Day One:  Ask God to glorify Himself in and through our nation
                                (Matthew 6:9)

Day Two: Ask that God’s names would be honored through the lives of His children in the United States: the Lord our righteousness, the Lord who sanctifies, the Lord our peace, the Lord who provides, the Lord our Truth, the Lord who heals, the Lord our Shepherd, the Lord our Banner, the Lord our Hope, etc. (Matthew 6:9)

Day Three: Pray for God’s kingdom to prosper and for the Father’s will to be done in our country and this election.  (Matthew 6:10)

Day Four: Ask God to provide for our needs in this country.  (Matthew 6:11)

Day Five: Ask for a spirit of forgiveness to come over His church.  May we forgive each other and walk in forgiveness, grace, and mercy.  (Matthew 6:12)

Day Six: Ask God to put the person in office who will do the most good to promote godliness.  Ask God to guard our nation from evil. (Matthew 6:13)

Day Seven: Ask God for the spirit of truth in this election and for deception to be exposed.
                                    (Ephesians 6:14)

Day Eight: Ask for people to vote for the party platform that most represents a biblical view of righteousness and godliness. (Ephesians 6:14)

Day Nine: Ask God for the candidate who will do the most good to help protect the freedom to promote the gospel of peace – the good news of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 6:15)

Day Ten: Ask God to protect God’s people, God’s work, and the work of righteousness in this nation with the shield of faith.  May God’s people use their faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16)

Day Eleven: May God grant a spirit in our nation so that people think correctly, have discernment, see through deception, and have the mind of Christ.
                                 (Ephesians 6:17)

Day Twelve: Ask God to put into office the person who will be the most likely to be a friend of biblical values, to protect people who believe in biblical values, and to promote legislation in keeping with biblical values.  (Ephesians 6:17)

Day Thirteen            Ask the Lord to pour out a spirit of intercession and grace upon His church during these days. (Ephesians 6:18)

Day Fourteen           Thank God for the covenant that our American forefathers had with the God of the Bible.  Ask God to keep His covenant of love and mercy with His people. (Daniel 9:3-4)

Day Fifteen              Confess and agree with God that we as a nation have sinned, committed iniquity, done wickedly, and rebelled against the Lord and His Word. (Daniel 9:5-7)

Day Sixteen             Repent of specific sins and wrongdoings of our nation.  Repent of our not obeying the Lord and His Word. (Daniel 9:8-9)

Day Seventeen        Pray for God to work in our country and this election for us to make laws that reflect biblical principles and statutes. (Daniel 9:10-15)

Day Eighteen           Ask God to hear the prayers of His people and cause His face to shine on our nation.  Ask the Lord to respond to the prayers of His remnant in our nation and to act on behalf of His remnant. (Daniel 16-19)

Day Nineteen          Ask the Lord to send many angels in the spiritual realm to fight in the heavenlies over the United States of America and this Presidential election.  (Daniel 10:10-12)

Day Twenty             Ask for the Lord’s armies to prevail over the demonic armies over the United States of America.  Use the weapons of our warfare to pray over our nation. (Daniel 10:13-14)

Day Twenty-One      Ask God for a spirit of trust and peace to replace a spirit of fear.  Ask God to strengthen His people in our country.  Thank God for hearing our prayers. (Daniel 10:15-19)
