When debating issues of truth and justice, these matters should be important to Christians. The Bible shows that the Lord raised up prophets to speak to the national-religious-political leaders of their day. Those prophets confronted issues of truth and justice - or falsehood and injustice. A part of our calling to be salt and light is to speak into those arenas.
The church must know how to think about the issues of our day with discernment.
"Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed. Truth is nowhere to be found. And whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice." - Isaiah 59:14-15
Here are some of the best news articles, quotes, and videos I saw last week during the Republican National Convention:

Newt Gingrich outlines the amazing number of terror attack just in the past 37 days and the necessity of having an administration that can handle it.
"Remember, this is not about politics. The cost of Hillary's dishonesty could be the loss of America as we know it." - Newt Gingrich
And Ben Carson discusses why we must fight for The Supreme Court. "I will make you a promise — regardless of attacks by the media, I will continue to talk about Hillary Clinton’s admiration for Saul Alinsky, her secular progressive values, and her commitment to activist judges who share those values. We must remember that 2016 is not just about who will sit in the Oval Office for the next 4 years, but who will sit on the Supreme Court for the next several decades. Together, let’s keep this issue front and center."
